Problem
Change the Console name and domain and the email notification shows the wrong sender information
Resolving The Problem
If the HMC has Event notification setup, to send out an email with alerts, and the user changes the Console Name or domain, the alert shows the old console name and domain. To correct the problem, open an SSH command line, and run these commands,
chsacfg -t email -o rmfrom
That removes the old information
Now run this command,
chsacfg -t email -o addfrom -a hmcname@hmcdomain.com
where hmcname is the new name given in Network Settings/Console Name, and the hmcdomain.com matches the domain listed.
This command will set it.
Then run the test email for the email address listed in Event notifications.
