Question & Answer
Question
What is the impact of load on front-end persistent-con-timeout and other front-end connection timeouts?
Cause
Worker-thread load can cause webseal to auto-adjust effective values for front-end connection timeout attributes.
Answer
The attached document (png) details the auto-adjustments made to various front-end connection timeout values that are made by webseal as the percentage of active worker-threads increases (typically driven by load and other performance factors). Timeouts are adjusted in order to prevent tying up worker-threads longer than needed while awaiting further requests / activity on the front-end connections.
