Troubleshooting


Problem

An end user machine using the cognos contributor java client is failing to open all nodes for all applications with the E_FAIL (Unspecified error) This was working OK previously and there have been no system changes to the local system.

Symptom

GUI error:

'COM object method returns error code: 0x80004005; E_FAIL (Unspecified error)'
