If you are unable to view stream file data in the Access for Windows Navigator interface but you can view the data correctly in PC5250 emulation, do the following:
Note: The following steps allow you to use file extensions for file data conversion. The Integrated File System can convert a data file when it is transferred between the operating system and a PC. When you access the data file from a PC, it is handled as if it were in ASCII.
Step 1: Open the Navigator. Select File Systems. Right-click on Integrated File System and select Properties.
Step 2: Type txt (or any desired file extension) in the box for File extension. You do not need to type the period (.). Click Add to add the file extension to the list. Select All files and click OK to accept these changes. Files in the list will be converted between the operating system and the PC.

Step 3: End and restart the Access for Windows Navigator to continue with editing the stream file.
