Duplicate IP Address On The Same VLAN/Interface

Troubleshooting


Problem

If the same IP address has been added twice to the same VLAN or Interface then subsequent modifications to the network configuration may fail with the following message displayed in the LMI when deploying the change: System Error The system encountered an error while it was attempting to apply the changes, and has reverted all values to the previous state. Contact IBM Customer Support.

Environment

This issue is only encountered on ISAM 8.01.3 Interim Fix 3, ISAM 9.0.0.0 and ISAM 9.0.0.1.

Resolving The Problem

Duplicate IP Addresses on the same VLAN or Interface will be prevented through APAR IV82874.
