Download Description

IBM Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS(CMz) is a web based tools that is built on top of the IBM Data Server Manager technology. The tool offers new web user interface designs, and efficient user scenarios to optimize performance and provide better user experience. Db2 Configuration Manager provides most configuration management functions for Db2 for z/OS. You can also use Db2 for z/OS to store the Db2 Configuration Manager repository data.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

1. Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS(CMz) is not available as a stand-alone product.
2. CMz is part of the Administration Solution Pack<Product ID: 5697-ASP> and can be downloaded from IBM Software Shopz if you are entitled to the Administration Solution Pack.
3. CMz is also part of the Db2 Connect Unlimited Advanced Edition (CUAE) for System z and can be downloaded from Passport Advantage if you are entitled to Db2 CUAE.
4. To enable Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS features, you must apply the license activation kit (LAK), the LAK is ONLY available from IBM Software Shopz.
5. All modification releases and fix packs of Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS will be available for downloading via Fix Central(without LAK).

Downloading from Fix Central

• IMPORTANT:
  To enable Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS features, you must apply the license activation kit (LAK),The LAK is only available from IBM Software Shopz.

  To download Db2 CMz from Fix Central:

  1. From the Fix Central home page, click the Find Product tab.
  2. In the Product Selector field, enter Db2 Configuration Manager for zOS. When a matching result is found, click the option from the drop-down list box.
  3. From the Installed Version drop-down box, select the version from which you wish to upgrade.
  4. From the Platform drop-down box, select All or the option for the platform you want to download. Click Continue.
  5. Confirm Browse for fixes is selected and click Continue.
     Note: You can also select Individual fix IDs and input one of the fix IDs listed above, to find the right install package for your platform.
  6. Click the check box to the left of the package you want to download and click Continue. You will need to enter an IBM ID to perform the download.

Downloading from Shopz

• IMPORTANT:
  Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS is not available as a stand-alone product. It is part of the Administration Solution Pack <Product ID: 5697-ASP> and the Db2 Connect Advanced Unlimited Edition. The latter is downloadable from Passport Advantage.

• Step 1: To order Db2 CMz from IBM Software Shopz:
  1. From the Fast access panel on the IBM Software Shopz home page, click Sign in for registered users and sign into the site, using the credentials provided to you by IBM.
  2. From the Group page, click create new software orders for service or products.
  3. From the My orders page, under Package category, click the option button to the left of z/OS - Products, select CBPDO (products) from the drop-down list, and then click Continue. The next page presents the basic details of your order:
     
  4. Verify the details and click Continue.
  5. On the next page, choose a hardware option that matches your machine, and click Continue.
  6. On the next page, choose the option button to the left of Do not use a report for this order, and click Continue.
  7. On the next page, search for Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS, using the following selections:
     
     Group: select DBS - Db2 (114 Products)
     Language: (your preferred language)
     Filter: select Show licensed products
     Search field: click the Product ID option button
     Search for: enter 5697-ASP
     Sort by: click the Product ID option button
     Click Show catalog, and then click Continue.
  8. Scroll through the result set to locate Version 4.1.2, click the Select check box and click Continue.
     
     On the next page you should see a message, verifying that your order is fully entitled.
  9. On the next page, under Delivery media, select Internet as the preferred media.
  10. On the next page, review your order, then click Submit.
      
      You will receive an email containing credentials you need to download the product, and a link to the Shopz download page.

  Step 2: To Download your ShopZ order
  
  1. You will receive a series of email after you submit your order. You don’t need to do anything until you get the “Your order is ready” email. The email will have the link to the download site for your products. For example:

  2. Click on the download link. You will be asked to log in to ShopZ.
  3. After you log in you will be redirected to the Download page for your order.
  
  4. On the download page there are two sections that are of interest to us.
  • The CBPDO material or z/OS archives, and
  • The CD/DVD Images and Other Materials or LUW archives
  
  
  
  5. Click on “CD/DVD Images and other materials” download link, for example to click on Db2 Administration Solution Pack for z/OS V3.1 to download License Information:
  
  
  6. The File Browser dialog will direct you to download (i.e. save) the file into a location of your choice.
  
  The customer needs to download these images and burn them onto CDs/DVDs or use a utility like 7zip that can extract from ISO files. Assuming you use 7zip, you should see 3 folders after extraction. AIX, lnx, win.
  
  7. If you go into the win folder, you will see a .zip file. If you go into the AIX or lnx folders, you will see a tar.gz file.
  Extract again from these files (e.g. using 7zip >Extract…).
  
  8. Follow the instructions in below section Installation Instructions to complete the installation.

Downloading from Passport Advantage

• IMPORTANT:
  Db2 Configuration Manager for z/OS(CMz) is part of the Db2 Connect Unlimited Advanced Edition (CUAE) for System z.
  Before you start, verify that you have an IBM ID, and that the Passport Advantage primary contact at your company granted your IBM ID permission to access and download Db2 Connect Unlimited Advanced Edition. If you do not have an IBM ID, you can create one at the Passport Advantage site.

  Then you can find the CMz images and DTRC image.
