Double byte characters in csv file exported from RQM results in garbled text

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to open csv file exported from IBM Rational Quality Manager (RQM) by Microsoft Excel results in all the double byte characters being garbled.

Symptom

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log in to Rational Quality Manager (RQM)
  2. Export RQM views such as Test Cases into csv format
  3. Open the file with Microsoft Excel

Expected result: CSV file can be read correctly.

Actual result:
All the double byte characters appear garbled.
