Question & Answer
Question
Why do I see '.' and '..' when I execute WRKLNK?
Cause
The dot ('.') means "Current directory" and the dot dot ('..') means parent directory.
Type WRKLNK and press <F4> to prompt the command.
You will see these options:
Object . . . . . . . . . . . . . '*'
Object type . . . . . . . . . . *ALL
Detail . . . . . . . . . . . . . *PRV
Display option . . . . . . . . . *PRV
"*PRV" means whatever option was taken for that parameter previously.
Answer
A user may happen to see the dot and dot dot when executing WRKLNK without any parameters. However, a user can change to not see them by executing "WRKLNK DSPOPT(*USER)". To see the dot and dot dot, as well as any hidden files (file names beginning with '.'), execute:
WRKLNK DSPOPT(*ALL)
