Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to update a spread sheet built by Report Builder for IBM Jazz Reporting Service (JRS) by using the 'Refresh the query results' results in the range in any formulas being altered and you don't get the correct results.
Symptom
If you add a formula to the spread sheet and then 'Refresh the query results' the formula may give an error or give incorrect results.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a simple report:
Data source: Rational Data Warehouse
Details: List of Requirements and Status
Artifact types: Requirement
Artifact relationships: <Requirement>
Projects: JKE Banking (Requirements Management …
Columns:
Project
Requirement ID
Requirement
URL
Status (Custom)
- Run the report
- Export> Export the report to Microsoft Excel> Download the spreadsheet with live data> Save File
- Open report in MS Excel
- Click on 'Make the results Dynamic'
- Add a new worksheet
- Add formula to A1 =COUNTBLANK(QueryResults!E2:E571)
This is a count of blanks in the Status column.
- Save Spreadsheet
- Press 'Refresh the query results' in the RunQuery work Sheet
Result: The formula has changed to =COUNTBLANK(QueryResults!D2:D571)
Note: When you 'Refresh the query results' again the formula becomes =COUNTBLANK(QueryResults!C2:C571)
