Document Library Objects (DLO) Information

Troubleshooting

Problem

Document Library Objects (DLOs) are stored in library QDOC. (If DLO information is stored in a user ASP, the library name is QDOC000X where X is the ASP number.)

Resolving The Problem

Document Library Objects (DLOs) are stored in library QDOC. (If DLO information is stored in a user ASP, the library name is QDOC000X where X is the ASP number.) DLOs are found within the QDLS file system; however, they are still stored in library QDOC. DLO types include *DOC and *FLR. When using OfficeVision/400, DLOs are those types. When using Client Access/400, they can have other extensions (for example, .EXE, .TXT, .CFG, and so on).

The QAO* files in QUSRSYS have pointers to the documents and folders in library QDOC.

It takes longer to restore a DLO than it does to save it. This is because restoring the object first into QTEMP and then moving it to QDOC is more time-consuming. If a new SYSOBJNAM (system object name is the internal name given to an object by the system, unique to the system) is created and restored to a new folder, the folder also must be created, adding to the performance time.
