Display Properties in a Tabular Form

About this task

Tohelp users choose between two or more option items in an option classit is often helpful to display one or more properties for each optionitem in the form of a table. For example see the Tabular Displayof an Option Class.

You cannot use the tabulardisplay for pickable option items. Use tabular displays with anotheroption class that allows users to make a selection.

Todisplay properties in a tabular form:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the option class whose optionitems you want to display in a tabular form.
  2. Either:
    1. Click the Display tab.
    2. Select Tabular Display from the Controldrop-down list.
    3. Click Save All Changes.

      Or:

    4. Click the Properties tab.
    5. Select UI: CONTROL from the UnattachedProperties drop-down list and enter "controls/displayProps.jsp" asits value.
    6. Click Attach.
  3. Select UI: COLUMN HEADINGS from the UnattachedProperties drop-down list and enter a semi-colon delimited list ofheadings as its value.

    For example "Size;Weight;Color".

  4. Click Attach.
  5. Select UI: COLUMN PROPERTIES from the UnattachedProperties dropdown list and enter a semi-colon delimited list ofthe property names as its value.

    For example "Monitor Size;Monitor Weight;MonitorColor".

    You can use property values as described in Properties as Variables to help you displaythe values of properties exactly as you need.

  6. Click Attach.

    Note that the number of columns in thetable is inferred from the number of properties you define in theUI: COLUMN PROPERTIES property.

  7. Click Save All Changes.
  8. If you now click Testthen you can verify that the option class is now presented as a tablewith one row for each option item and one column for each propertyspecified.
