Display problems with Maximo when running Internet Explorer 10

Question

Is there a way to avoid the display problems in Maximo that may occur when using Internet Explorer version 10?

Answer

There is a programmatic solution that will automatically move Maximo users running Internet Explorer 10 to run in IE9 compatibility mode. This will prevent display errors that may occur when using IE10. This solution only effects the Maximo application and not other applications the user may be running on his machine. Support for Internet Explorer version 10 is available for Maximo versions 7.5.0.3 and higher.

Please see the steps below to enable compatibility mode. Please try this first on a test environment.

1. Make a backup copy of

<maximo_home>\applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\components\page.jsp

2. Open page.jsp in a text editor and find the line that reads '<meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript"/>'.

3. Add this line after the line mentioned in step 2:

<meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE9" />

4. Save the file, and rebuild and redeploy the maximo.ear.
