Disabling input validation against an XML Schema or DTD

Troubleshooting

Problem

Functionality needed for disabling XML Schema/DTD validation

Resolving The Problem

In WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.1.0.1, you can disable XML Schema or DTD input validation for Xerces XML type trees by setting an environment variable.

When you set the DTX_DO_SCHEMA environment variable to "true", input validation of the XML document against the Schema/DTD is disabled and the document is instead parsed for well-formedness.

To add the environment variable on Windows XP, go to System Properties > Environment Variables > System variables. Add the DTX_DO_SCHEMA variable and set the value to any non-empty string, such as "true".

In 8.1.0.2, this option is not available. Instead, a new option has been added to the DocumentVerification input card setting in the Map Designer that can accomplish the same task.
