Directory (dir) Command

Use the Directory (dir) commandto generate a detailed listing of:

  • all files currently available for download
  • all files recently downloaded
  • all files sent to this mailslot since the previous Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork filereorganization which occurs every Sunday morning

The following is an example script using the dir command.An explanation of each field within the directory command output followsthe example script.

Batch Status Codes

There are many values that might appear in these 10 flagsand they all have significance to Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork.The values that are of interest to FTP users are:

  • I (uppercase i) in position 1 ? file is currently being uploaded
  • C in position 2 and S in position 9 ? file was successfully uploaded
  • A in position 2 and R in position 4 ? file is available for download
  • A in position 2 and T in position 5 ? file was successfully downloaded
Batch Type Field

Value is always 1 for FTP accounts.

Mailslot ID

Current active mailslot (SZ999FTI inthe above example). For more information see Moving within Your Mailbox .

Batch Number

7-digit batch number assigned by Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork.Prefixed with the pound (#) sign may be used as the FTP file nameduring downloads.

Count

Number of blocks needed to send the file to Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork.There is a relationship between this number and file size but thisfield does not contain a byte count.

Processing Date

Date the network processed the batch. Format is MMMDD whereMMM is a three character code for the month and DD is the 1- or 2-digitdate.

Processing Time

Time the network processed the batch. Format is HH:MM whereHH represents hours in a 24-hour time system and MM represents minutes(Eastern Time).

BID

Batch Identifier. Represents one of the following:

  • For downloaded files or for files available for download thisvalue is a unique number identifying the file on Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork.
  • If the file was retrieved from archive this value is RESTORE.
  • For uploaded files this value is the file name.
  • If you do not embed a $$ADD record in your uploaded data filethis value is the file name sent.
  • If you embed a $$ADD record in your uploaded data files and ifyou choose not to use the BID field this value is NONE.
