Direct print functionality for Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.4

Troubleshooting

Problem

Direct print functionality was changed in 7.6.0.4 to no longer use applets. With this change in Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.4 only, the direct print functionality does not work correctly on Google Chrome browsers version 45 and above. For Chrome users, one print request prompt is displayed for each attachment. For example, when you print a work order with five attachments, six print request prompts will be displayed - one for each attachment and one for the detail report. Additionally, multiple documents are sometimes printed for a single direct print. A new system property, mxe.report.directprint.useapplet, was added in 7.6.0.4. The default property value is 0. When the value is 0, the system does not use applets for direct print. When the property is set to 1, direct print functionality functions as it did before 7.6.0.4 and uses applets to print.
