Abstract
In line with our product roadmap and evolving industry standards, support for Java Server Faces (JSF) in the HATS toolkit will be deprecated. Specifically, the option to "Create JSF Web Pages" from the HATS Integration Object context menu will be removed. This technical note outlines the deprecation process, the reasons behind it, and its impact on users.

Deprecation Schedule:
JSF support will officially be discontinued in the release following HATS 9.7.2. However, previous versions of HATS (including 9.7.2) will continue to support existing JSF functionality. After the release, JSF support will no longer be available in HATS.
Rationale for Deprecation:
The decision to remove JSF support is based on several factors:
- Usage Trends: There has been a decline in the use of JSF functionality among our user base.
- Product Evolution: Continuing to support JSF adds unnecessary complexity, potential security vulnerabilities, and compatibility challenges with future updates.
- Focus on Core Features: Removing JSF support allows us to prioritize enhancements to core features and better address user needs.
Impact:
The deprecation of JSF will primarily affect customers who depend on JSF functionality. While previously generated JSF files will still work, the "Create JSF Web Pages" option will no longer appear in the context menu for Integration Objects, regardless of whether the objects are newly or previously generated. Affected users will need to migrate away from JSF to ensure continued compatibility with future versions of HATS.
Support:
During the transition period, our support team will assist customers with any questions or concerns about the deprecation of JSF support.
Conclusion:
By phasing out JSF support, we aim to streamline the HATS toolkit and align it with evolving industry practices. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our customers and minimizing any disruption to workflows.
