Installing Memory Modules
To install memory modules, follow these steps:

- Locate the memory module sockets.
- Release the memory module ejectors by pressing outward to allow module insertion.
- Align the memory module with the socket's alignment key and insert it. Note that the socket's design allows for insertion in only one direction.
- Secure the memory module by pressing down until the ejectors lock into position. Properly seated modules will have their ejectors aligned with those on other occupied sockets.
- Repeat the process for any additional memory modules.
- Replace the cooling shroud. Follow the instructions for reinstalling the cooling shroud.
- Close the system and refer to the section on closing the system.
- Restore power to the system and peripherals.
- Enter the System Setup program (by pressing
) and verify the System Memory setting reflects the new installation. - If necessary, recheck the installation of the memory modules if the System Memory setting is incorrect.
- Run a system memory test using the system diagnostics. Consult the guide on running the system diagnostics.
Removing Memory Modules
To remove memory modules:
- Power down the system and disconnect it from the electrical outlet.
