Dedicated Fleet Management
A dedicated fleet is a trucking fleet that is owned by the carrierbut is licensed for exclusive use by one or more shippers. A shipperarranges with the carrier to use the dedicated fleet which helpsensure that the needed truck capacity is always available.
You can perform the following tasks:
- Track the status of the trucks in your fleet.
- Find shipments and assign them to the trucks.
- Manage non-shipment legs of the route such as deadhead or repositioning.
- Manage revenue sharing for shipments carried by the dedicatedfleet.
- Use the Freight Payment features of Sterling TMS to managethe payment of carrier invoices.
- Set up Sterling TMS toautomatically allocate the dedicated fleet costs among the shipmentsdelivered by the fleet.
Shippers can also authorize their dedicated carrier to manage thededicated fleet for them. The carrier logs on to Sterling TMS and uses thesame Dedicated Fleet capabilities as the shipper.
