Troubleshooting
Problem
When importing a table definition in DataStage Designer through Orchestrate, the orchdbutil command is used. This is typically done by right-clicking on the Table Definitions folder or a subfolder, and selecting "Import Table Definition -> Orchestrate Schema Definitions..." and then selecting "Database table (via orchdbutil). DataStage uses the input on the dialog to construct a call to orchdbutil. If there is a problem with the invocation of orchdbutil, an error will be returned. Included in the message text will be the orchdbutil command which was used, with some minor changes to hide the user credentials. If the problem is due to the environment, it can be painful to debug since any environment changes will require a restart of DataStage. In a Windows setting, the entire system must be rebooted for environment changes to take effect. This may not be a realistic option to debug a problem with the environment.
