Dell PowerVault 120T DDS-4
HP SureStore DAT40 (C5683A, C5713A)
IBM 20/40GB DDS-4 (PN 00N7991)

1. When defining a device class for a DDS-4 drive, use
- devtype=4MM
- format=<DRIVE | DDS1 | DDS1C | DDS2 | DDS2C | DDS3 | DDS3C | DDS4 | DDS4C>
- Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=4MM FORMAT=DDS4 .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=4MM FORMAT=DDS4C .....
DDS4 - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the DDS-4 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 20 GB when using DDS-4 media.
DDS4C - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the DDS-4 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 40 GB when using DDS-4 media.
2. The format used by the drive for writing data to tape depends on the medium type. For example, the drive will write with the DDS-3 format on DDS-3 tape cartridges.
3. 20 GB native capacity and approximately 40 GB with 2:1 compression
4. Device identifications and firmware levels used during validation
