"DDL Generation did not complete successfully" error message when generating a DDL on a physical data model with a DB2 schema

Troubleshooting


Problem

If you try to generate a data definition language (DDL) file on an IBM DB2 UDB Version 9.1 schema inside a physical data model created by reverse engineering from a DDL file in IBM Rational Data Architect/InfoSphere Data Architect, you may get a "DDL Generation did not complete successfully" error message. No output gets written to the .log file.

Symptom

The error message appears as follows after clicking Finish on the Generating DDL... wizard:



It does not matter which selections you make in the wizard.
No other messages indicating the source of the error will appear.
No output is written to the .log file
