DB_BAD_DATABASE_VENDOR error accessing an object store

Troubleshooting


Problem

When using FileNet Enterprise Manager (FEM) to access an object store or when users attempt to log into FileNet WorkplaceXT on DB2, a DB_BAD_DATABASE_VENDOR error occurs.

Symptom

The SystemOut.log file contains the following error:

[2/3/11 13:20:39:267 EST] 00000083 ExceptionUtil E CNTR0020E: EJB threw an unexpected (non-declared) exception during invocation of method "executeChanges" on bean "BeanId(FileNetEngine#Engine-ejb-ws.jar#EngineCore, null)". Exception data: com.filenet.api.exception.EngineRuntimeException: DB_BAD_DATABASE_VENDOR: The database vendor cannot be determined from the JNDI DataSource or is of an unsupported type. Check the data source and verify the database connection.

Caused by: com.ibm.db2.jcc.c.SqlException: [ibm][db2][jcc][10360][12579] Invalid operation: ResultSet holdability HOLD_CURSORS_OVER_COMMIT is not allowed on an XA connection.
