Are there any further updates to the Db2 Version 11.5 Knowledge Center pages?

Answer

Updates are listed below.
The following new adapters have been added:
The Db2 pureScale Feature is supported on POWER9® compatible rack mounted server that supports one of the Ethernet RoCE adapters listed:
  • PCIe4 2-port 100 GbE RoCE x16 adapter with feature code EC66, EC67
  • PCIe3 2-port 10 Gb NIC & RoCE SR/Cu adapter with feature code EC2U, EC2T
The AIX level must be AIX 7.2 TL03 SP4 level or higher SP when EC66 or EC67 cards are used.
 
Table 1.  "Software requirements" now includes AIX 7.2 TL04 SP1
Updated notes under Table 1:
  • 4.  When POWER9® systems are used with Db2 11.5.0.0, one must use AIX 7.2 and in POWER8® processor compatibility mode. Starting in Db2 11.5.5.0,  POWER9® systems may be used in POWER9® processor compatibility mode.  AIX 7.2 TL03 support on POWER9® also requires the fix for IJ12134. 
New notes under Table 1:
  • 5. In order to use AIX 7.2 TL04 SP1 or higher SP, the Db2 level used must be Db2 11.5.5.0 or higher with Db2 APAR IT31924
  • 6. When using Db2 11.5.5.0 or higher, AIX 7.2 TL03 SP3 is the new minimum AIX operating system level

This topic now is now specific to configurations with these adapters: EC3A, EC3B, EC2M, EC2N, EC37, EC38, EC3L, EC3M, EC2S, EC2R, EC66, EC67, EC2U, and EC2T.
Installation prerequisites for Db2 pureScale Feature (Power Linux)
Note that POWER9® machines can only be used with Db2 pureScale in POWER8® compatibility mode.
New notes for 100Gb cable information:
  • Refer to the POWER knowledge center for cable options for the corresponding adapter that is being selected.  For example, the cables available for the EC3L/EC3M adapter on POWER9® are listed under the adapter here:  https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/POWER9/p9hcd/fcec3l.htm
  • Note that a server that uses a 100Gb adapter must use a 100Gb type switch and the corresponding cables.
Table 1 "Software requirements" now includes:
  • RHEL 7.8.  The required packages and OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) package  for this operating system level are the same as RHEL 7.6.
  • RHEL 8.1.  The required packages for this operating system level are the same as RHEL 7.6, however there is no OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) package required as only TCP is supported

  • 2. When using RHEL 7.8, the Db2 level must be 11.5.5.0 or higher.  Note that ConnectX-2 is no longer supported by RHEL on 7.8.
  • 3. When using RHEL 8.1, the Db2 level must be 11.5.5.0 or higher.  RHEL 8.1 currently supports TCP only (no RDMA), and may only be able to run on POWER8® systems (no POWER9® support).

  • RHEL 7.8.  The required packages and OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) package  for this operating system level are the same as RHEL 7.6.
  • RHEL 8.1.  The required packages for this operating system level are the same as RHEL 7.6, however there is no OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) package required as only TCP is supported.

The following note now has expanded support:
The Db2 pureScale Feature is also supported on any x64 Intel compatible rack-mounted server that supports these 2-port Ethernet RoCE or Infiniband adapters in a PCI slot:
  • Mellanox ConnectX-4 generation card that supports RDMA over converged Ethernet (RoCE or IB with RHEL) (RoCE with SLES)
