DB2 errors when SAz/OS tries to shutdown DB2

Troubleshooting

Problem

DSN9016I and DSN9023I messages occur when SAz/OS issues the DB2 shutdown command.

Symptom

DSN9016I @DBFD '-STO' COMMAND REJECTED, UNAUTHORIZED REQUEST
DSN9023I @DBFD DSN9SCND '-STO DB2' ABNORMAL COMPLETION

Cause

In this case AUTGSS had not been granted SYSOPR authority in RACF.

Diagnosing The Problem

The 2.1.2.1 Access Authority for Automation Work Operators topic in the System Automation for z/OS V3R4.0 Product Automation Programmer's Reference and Operator's Guide shows a list of SAz/OS auto operators that need SYSOPR authority.

The 1.2.7.1 Automated Function Names/OPERATORS Policy Item in the System Automation for z/OS V3R4.0 User's Guide shows that there is not always a one to one relationship between the SAz/OS Automated Function and the Automation Operator name.

Resolving The Problem

This issue was resolved by granting SYSOPR authority to AUTGSS
