Troubleshooting
Problem
InterChange Server stops during processing due to DB2 error.
Symptom
Following DB2 error message is observed in ICS log:
"A connection to data source jdbc:db2:datasource cannot be made.
[info]:: (SQLState [HY001]:[IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0120E Memory allocation
failure. SQLSTATE=HY001DB specific error:-99999)]"
After this error message the log states that ICS was shutdown immediately.
Cause
This technote is applicable if you are on DB2 version earlier than v8.1 fix pack 16(which is also known as v8.2 fix pack 9). There is a known memory allocation problem in the mentioned versions of DB2. If ICS encounters database issues then it will shutdown immediately.
Diagnosing The Problem
If the InterChange Server log includes the DB2 error listed in the "Symptom" section of this technote, open the db2diag.log file under DB2 directory. For more information about the problem, search the following message for the time stamp that corresponds to the DB2 error in the InterChange Server log:

Resolving The Problem
To prevent the InterChange Server shutdown problem, upgrade to DB2 Universal Database V8.1 fix pack 16( also known as v8.2 fixpack 9) or higher.
