Question & Answer
Question
Why doesn't DataStore appear as a valid policy type when trying to configure a new Veritas (now Symantec) NetBackup™ policy?
Answer
You must provide a license key to create new policy for Netezza backups. Otherwise, you cannot select the DataStore policy type as it does not appear in the drop-down list.
To enable use of the DataStore policy type, you must provide the license key as follows:
- Click on Help.
- Select License Keys.
- Select New.
- Enter the following key:
DEXW-PM9K-R38B-UZPN-OPPR-PPXP-PPCP-PPPP-PP6
There is also a command line interface that can be used to do this. TO do it at the command line, log onto the master server and:
- Go to /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/get_license_key.
- At the prompt, enter A.
- When prompted, enter the following key:
DEXW-PM9K-R38B-UZPN-OPPR-PPXP-PPCP-PPPP-PP6
These keys are additive and are not version specific. The key above can be used for NetBackup 5.1 or 6.0.
