DataStage job with dataset gets fatal I/O subsystem partition error.

Problem

A DataStage job containing a dataset stage fails with the following fatal error: Fatal Error: I/O subsystem: partition 0 must be a multiple of 131072 in size (was 2047107072). The partition was evidently corrupted. This error occurs both at job run time, and also when try to view dataset contents via the menu option: Tools -> Data Set Management.

Symptom

A DataStage job containing a data set stage fails with the following fatal error:
