DataPower WebGUI cannot create or access objects or files with '.json' in their names

Troubleshooting


Problem

From the WebGUI, you cannot define a configuration if its name includes the string '.json'. If you attempt this configuration, the WebGUI shows an error and does not create this configuration. If you defined a configuration or added a file through an interface other than the WebGUI and the name includes the string '.json', the WebGUI cannot access this configuration or file. The appliance has no problem with creating a configuration or with accessing configurations or files that include the string '.json' from the command line, over the AMP interface, or with a SOAP request over the XML management interface.

Symptom

If the WebGUI encounters a configuration or file with the string '.json' in the name, one of the following situations can occur:

  • The browser appears to hang
  • The browser shows JavaScript errors
  • The browser shows the user-accessible configuration or prompts you to download the file with the user-accessible configuration
