Troubleshooting
Problem
Collaboration & Deployment Services configuration tool finishes with the following warning: Configuration Succeeded Warning: Validate Database: Database contains existing messaging engine tables (SIB*).
Symptom
Although configuration says successful WebSphere fails to start.
Another symptom that may be seen is when upgrading from one version of C&DS to another version of C&DS, attempts to pull down the adapters to the Deployment Manager Client from the C&DS server will fail and when attempting to connect to the pem update url will return an error like:
| Error 500: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 12 with more detail in the WebSphere SystemOut.log for the WebSphere profile [9/24/16 8:35:09:918 PDT] 000000f8 webapp E com.ibm.ws. webcontainer.webapp.WebApp logServletError SRVE0293E: [Servlet Error]- [pemupdateServlet]: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 12 A warning may also be displayed at the time of running the configtool for configuring C&DS stating that existing SIB tables exist and the need to drop them before starting the instance. |
