Dashboard errors using a data set that is being refreshed

Troubleshooting


Problem

In Cognos Analytics 11.0.4 and higher, you can create data sets from packages and data modules as described here: https://www.ibm.com/communities/analytics/cognos-analytics-blog/grab-a-… Refreshing a data set during peak usage hours may generate errors for those users who are consuming the data set in reports and dashboards.

Symptom

Users may see the following error:

The data for this data set is not available. Refresh the data set or contact your administrator for access to the source.
