Question

Can the locations of the dsmserv.opt, accounting log and console log be set to a specific location?

Answer

The location of the dsmserv.opt file and the accounting log can be set to specific locations by editing the appropriate registry entries for the Tivoli Storage Manager server.

WARNING: Modifying the registry can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall the Windows OS to correct them. It is suggested that you contact Microsoft support for assistance with the registry.

The location of the dsmserv.opt file is specified in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/IBM/ADSM/CurrentVersion/Server/Server1/Options

Right click on Filename and select Modify, then edit the value to reflect the desired location of the dsmserv.opt file.




The location of the accounting log can be specified by modifying the Filename value for the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/IBM/ADSM/CurrentVersion/Server/Server1/Accounting

The location of the console log can be specified by modifying the Filename value for the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/IBM/ADSM/CurrentVersion/Server/Server1/Service
