Creating report in Design Manager results in error CRMYE0009E parameters could not be loaded

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to create a report based on a custom template designed with IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) 1.2.0.x using IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) Design Manager (DM) 4.0.x results in the error "CRMYE0009E parameters could not be loaded".

Symptom

Follow the steps below in the Web client.

Upload your RPE report template on the server:

  1. Create a Report Template from the toolbar menu Analysis > Create > Report Template.

  2. Complete the fields on the page.

  3. Click Save.


Now you see the Report Browser opens and the new template in the list. Then you can create a configuration to generate a report.


Create the report configuration:

  1. Create a report from the toolbar menu Analysis > Create > Report.

  2. Complete the fields on the page (make sure you have created a sub folder under MyReports or Shared Reports unless you can not save your report. See the following technote for details.


    1637779: When trying to create a report, the "Save" button is disabled
  3. Click Save.



Result:
You see the error below appearing afterwards, when DM will try to load the report:

In the dm.log you will get the following stack trace:

Cause

IBM Rational Software Architect Design Manager versions 4.0.0, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 do not support IBM Rational Publishing Engine 1.2.0.

Environment

  • IBM Rational Software Architect Design Manager 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2

  • IBM Rational Publishing Engine 1.2.0.x

Resolving The Problem

You can choose one of the following options.

  • Upgrade to RSA DM 4.0.3 or higher which is the first version supporting the version 2 of RPE templates.

    OR
  • Use a version of RPE older than 1.2 with RSA DM 4.0, 4.0.1 or 4.0.2.

    OR
  • Select version 1 when creating the template for embedded usage if you need to use RPE 1.2. For more information about the template version compatibility see the following document: Version compatibility.
