Creating a Remote Configuration List or Adding an Entry to an Existing List (WRKCFGL, QAPPNRMT)

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains how to create a Remote Configuration List of QAPPNRMT in WRKCFGL.

Resolving The Problem

To create a remote configuration list or add an entry to an existing list, do the following:

1.On an operating system command line, type the following:

WRKCFGL

Press the Enter key.
2.If no list exists, continue with Step 3. If a list does exist, go to Step 4.
3.To create a configuration list when the QAPPNRMT list does not already exist, type the following on an operating system command line:

CRTCFGL TYPE(*APPNRMT) TEXT('remote configuration list') APPNRMTE((RMTLOCNAME RMTNETID LOCLOCNAME RMTCPNAME CPNETID LOCPASWRD SECURLOC))

Press the Enter key.

Example:
CRTCFGL TYPE(*APPNRMT) APPNRMTE((SYSTEMB APPN SYSTEMA SYSTEMB APPN *NONE *YES))
4.If a list already exists, an entry can be added to the list by issuing the following command:

ADDCFGLE
When issuing a WRKCFGL command and selecting the QAPPNRMT list, it will appear as follows:

Note: Changes to the parameter SECURE LOCATION in the remote configuration list do not become affective until after the APPC controller is varied off and back on.

The command CHGCFGL also can be used to make changes to an APPN configuration list.
