This document steps trough the process of creating Audit Journal Data Marts.
Objective
Create a Audit Journal Data Mart to simplify the process of analyzing auditing data.
Environment
The IBM i Audit journal data mart requires the following environment:
IBM i 7.5: Group PTF: SF99950 Level 7 or higher
IBM i 7.4: Group PTF: SF99704 Level 28 or higher
IBM i 7.6: Base
Steps
Step 1: Create a Library for the Data Mart:
CRTLIB LIB(DATAMART) TEXT('Library for Audit Journal Data Mart')
Step 2: Create a Data Mart:
On Navigator for i, open the Security Menu and Select the option Manage Data Mart:
Step 3: Create a Data Mart:
On Navigator for i, select Actions from the top menu and select Create New Data Mart:
Step 4: Specify Data Mart selection criteria:
On the Create New Data Mart dialog specify the name of the library created in Step 1, the Audit Journal Entry Type and selection criteria:
The Data Mart is created and now shows on the list:
Step 5: Review Data:
On the Manage Data Mart, right click on the data mart created on Step 4 and select Detail View:
On the View Configuration, select the option to review the data mart data, time interval, optionally filter by user:
Data is displayed for the Data Mart:
Step 6: Refresh Data Mart:
On Navigator for i, select Actions from the top menu and select Manage, specify the refresh data options:
Step 7: Create a Job Schedule entry to refresh the data automatically:
On Navigator for i, select Actions from the top menu and select Schedule:
Select your Schedule Options for the Data Mart:
Specify your Job Scheduler parameters:
The scheduled job will refresh the data mart as scheduled.
NOTE: The Data Mart function does not delete data automatically, when you are done analyzing the data, choose the option to delete the data mart from the actions menu.
