Create an Option Class
About this task
Tocreate an option class:
Procedure
- Inthe model group hierarchy navigate toand display the model option class group or option class in whichyou want to create the option class.
See Access the Visual Modeler for information onhow to navigate the model group hierarchy.
You can create anoption class within another option class within a model or withinan option class group.
- To create option classes aschildren of themodel or option class group:
- Click New OptionClass.
This displays the New OptionClass tab.
- Proceed to Step 4.
- To create nested option classes:
- In the Navigation framenavigate to andselect the option class where you want to nest the new class.
- Click New OptionClass.
This displays the New OptionClass tab.
- Proceed to Step 4.
- Enter a name and descriptionfor the newoption class.
If you plan to associate the option classwith a product ID then you might consider skipping this step. Ifthe name and description match the name and description of the productID then you can auto-fill these fields when you assign the productID in Step 6.
- Define the effectivity datesby modifyingthe start and end dates.
You can click the calendar icon to selectthe dates from a calendar.
- If applicable assign a productID.

- Click Save tosavethe new option class and remain at the New Option Class tab(to create additional option classes); click Save and Edit tosave the new option class and display the option class tabs for editing.
The new option class appears in the Navigationframe. The new option class is selected ready to be modified.
