Solution
|
|---|
A fix is included in BIOS version 1.11, build ID ZUE165A and higher.
The file will be available from the IBM System x Support web site at the following URL:

Workaround
|
|---|
Do not use a USB keyboard, mouse, or any other USB devices while CPU diagnostics are running.
|
Additional information
|
|---|
During some routines of the CPU diagnostics, the processors are put to sleep. If USB interrupts occur while the processors are inactive, the system may hang inadvertently. In BIOS versions prior to 1.11, avoiding activity from USB keyboards and mice avoids the hang condition.
In BIOS version 1.11, a change was made to the BIOS interrupt routines that permits USB activity while the CPU's are inactive.
