Troubleshooting
Problem
This document explains why message CPF3770 might be logged when saving spooled files using BRMS.
Resolving The Problem
With BRMS, it is possible to save spooled files using spooled file lists in BRMS. At V5R3M0, if the output queue that is specified is empty, nothing is saved and no error message is logged. At V5R4M0 and later releases, message CPF3770 is logged for each empty output queue indicated in the spooled file list:

was detected. The objects not restored may include objects that were
partially restored and require some additional recovery action.
This change is because at V5R4M0 and above, the operating system has the ability to save spooled files without BRMS. If there are no spooled files, CPF3770 is logged.
If the user has the PTF for APAR SE27404 applied, CPF3770 is logged for each empty output queue; however, the backup continues to save all other items in the control group.
