Question

I migrated from CICS PA v5.1 to CICS PA v5.4 and when I run my Summary reports I get the following error messages:

CPA0015E Command Error * SUMMARY Operand not recognized - valid values are: listed in the User's Guide. The suboperand is: BY(

CPA0007W Possible Error Operand syntax invalid - skipping to next operand BY(TRAN),

I made NO changes to my Summary reports. Can someone advise why I am seeing this problem?

Answer

The SUMMARY(BY operand was tolerated until CICS PA V5.3 when it was dropped. You can read about this change by going to this link:

To resolve this you can either change the SUMMARY(BY operand to SUMMARY(FIELDS, or regenerate the job using the v5.4 dialog.
