Controlling Zoom displayed in Map Widget in DASH based on data

Question & Answer

Question

How can we have the zoom of a map set based on data in Dashboard Application Services Hub (DASH)?

Cause

Customer would like to have the area (zoom level) shown in the Map widget be defined by a data provided from a data source.

Answer

Controlling zoom via data can be achieved by mapping the attribute 'Map Marker Zoom To' a column.

Please note:
It works only under certain conditions as explained in this blog:

Map Marker Zoom To is a special attribute to control zoom behavior of markers. If set, it works as follows:
If there is only one marker with zoomTo set, zoom map to that level and center on that marker.
If more than one marker has zoomTo set, ignore zoom to.
If there is only one marker, whether there is zoomTo value or not, center on that marker (very useful in launch in context or when responding to context from other widgets).
