Question
Contract Effective and Expiration Dates
Answer
Contract Effective and Expiration Dates
When you define contract sections and lanes you defineeffective dates and expiration dates for each level.
The following rules apply to setting these dates:
- You must specify an effective date. The contract section orlane cannot be used before that date to rate a shipment.
- The expiration date is optional. If you do not set the expirationdate the contract section or lane never expire.
- The effective and expiration dates for each lane must fall withinthe dates for the section.
- The effective and expiration dates for each section must fallwithin the dates for the contract.
- When a contract section expires the lanes in that section automaticallyexpire.
- You can change the expiration date for a contract section to alater date. However you must update the expiration date of each lanein this section that you want to extend. Sterling TMS does not extendthe lane expiration dates automatically.
