Connecting to Sybase ASE data source fails with USA-SQL-0449 error

Troubleshooting


Problem

After configuring a new Sybase ASE data source within Cognos Administration, testing and use of the data source fails with the error RQP-DEF-0068.

Symptom

The following error messages can be observed in the test results page, and within the cogserver.log:

RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in: Sybase ASE
UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "Sybase ASE" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database.
UDA-SQL-0449 An error occurred when allocating memory during the "attach" operation.
