Resolving The Problem
The IBM eServer i5 can be both an SNTP client and an SNTP server.
To set up the SNTP client, specify a time server in the remote system field and *yes in the client autostart field on the Change NTP Attributes (CHGNTPA) screen. A list of public time servers is maintained on the Internet. You can use a search engine with a query of NTP servers. The SNTP client will change the hardware clock.
Specify *yes in the Server autostart field to enable the eServer i5 as a time server.
