Abstract
If you are deploying IMS Server on WebSphere Application Server, Version 8.5 or later with Microsoft SQL Server, configure the sendStringParametersAsUnicode custom property to add support for non-ASCII characters.

- On the WebSphere Application Server host, where IMS Server is installed, log on to the administrative console. For example: https://<hostname>:9043/ibm/console/
- In the navigation pane, select Resources > JDBC > Data sources.
- Select the name of your data source.
- In Additional Properties, select Custom properties.
- In the custom properties window, select sendStringParametersAsUnicode.
- In General Properties, set value to true.
- Click Apply.
- In the messages box, click Save.
- Restart the WebSphere Application Server.
