About this task
Whenyou set up your dedicated fleet profile you define the followingfeatures:
- The carrier and SCAC for the fleet
- The trucks (referred to as tractors) in this fleet
- Driver information for the fleet
- The trailers used by this fleet if you want to link specifictrailers to your trucks
- The dedicated fleet billing cycle
Procedure
- Set up your dedicated fleet including trucks (referredto as tractors) trailers and driver information. You setup the dedicated fleet as part of your collaborative profile.
- Define one or more online contracts to cover shipmentsdelivered by the dedicated fleet.
- Define route guide rules to support tendering to your dedicatedcarrier. For example you might want to set up auto-carrier selectionfor this carrier in certain shipping lanes.
- Set up the Sterling TMS users thatwill manage the dedicated fleet.
- Activate the Shipment Removed from Tour alert if you wantto be notified about dedicated fleet events.
- Configure the mileage source you want to use for dedicatedfleet shipments.
- Define how Sterling TMS calculatesrates for your dedicated fleet.
- Define how to allocate costs from a dedicated fleet cycleacross the shipments carried by that cycle. You can also define howto allocate costs for non-shipment legs and how to handle revenuesharing.
