Configuration Manager requires GTK libraries on AIX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems

Troubleshooting


Problem

The Configuration Manager is a 32-bit Eclipse Rich Client Program application, which requires the 32-bit GTK libraries on certain operating systems.

Symptom

The Configuration Manager crashs when running the cmcfgmgr_CM command.

The error log is in the /opt/IBM/cmrepository/[Version]/cmcfgmgr/configuration directory.

The error information is not the same in the following two situations.

1. Configuration Manager reports a "Could not load SWT library" error when the GTK libraries are not installed. Below is the example of the error information:

2. Configuration Manager reports "Segmentation error" when the GTK libraries are installed but are not updated to the required versions. Below is an example of the error information:
