Condition null error, when entering data into a fields with special characters in the display name

Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearQuest Web. A "condition null" error occurs when entering data into a field that has a display name with a numeric, special, or doublebyte character.

Symptom

If a field has a display name that starts with a numeric, special, or doublebyte character, this error occurs if you enter data into that field:

Internal error: Status 500; Condition null; Message: Internal error: Internal error: DomParser.parse() caught SAXException: Element or attribute do not match QName production: QName::=(NCName':')?NCName.
