Compatibility with HP System Insight Manager

Netezza Performance Servers (NPS) are shipped with the HP System Management homepage configured as part of the default configuration. The HP System Management homepage can be accessed at either of the following URLs by using your NPS host name or IP address:

https://<nps ip="">:2381

https://<host="">:2381

The URL resolves to a login page in which you must provide the UNIX root user ID and password.

The HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) is not installed, configured, or supported on NPS. HP SIM is a central console and repository from which you can monitor a network of HP servers. You can install HP SIM on a machine in your network and use it to access the HP System Management homepage of a Netezza server across the network.

Note:  Netezza does not support the use of HP SIM on the Netezza server. You should not install any HP SIM components on the Netezza server because this will modify several configuration files used by Netezza. Also, HP SIM will install its own Postgres database.
