Problem
This document describes how to collect snap data on the VIOS server partition.
Resolving The Problem
Note: In collecting SNAP data in conjunction with other (HMC, IBM i, etc.), please get date/timestamps from all devices for a frame of reference.
To collect the snap data on the VIOS Server partition, do the following:
| 1. | Log on the VIOS. |
| 2. | Run the following command: snap Press the Enter key, and wait for the command to complete. |
| 3. | The file will be in /home/padmin and will be named snap.pax.Z |
| 4. | FTP or e-mail the collected data using the instructions contained in Rochester Support Center knowledgebase document New, Sending Files to the Rochester Support Center Using E-Mail or the Testcase FTP Site. |
