Resolving The Problem
This document provides information on collecting SMB VLOGs using the Start System Service Tools (STRSST) command to diagnose problems with IBM AS/400 NetServer and IBM iSeries NetServer print shares.
Once the SMB VLOGs have been collected, they can be downloaded to a PC and emailed to an IBM Remote Technical Support representative using the instructions in the following document:
N1019300: Copying the Text from a Spooled File Using System i Navigator
| Caution: When experiencing problems with iSeries NetServer or AS/400 NetServer print shares, it is highly recommended to discuss the problem with an IBM Remote Technical Support representative before collecting the SMB VLOGs. The problem might be a known issue that can easily be resolved through configuration changes, printer hardware settings, or Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs). In these cases, the SMB VLOGs may not be required. |
