Troubleshooting
Problem
Collecting data documents aids in problem determination and saves time resolving Problem Management Records (PMRs). This information pertains to collection for CDS Corruption in the RMM DFSMS subcomponent.
Resolving The Problem
In the case of CDS corruption, RMM will issue messages to indicate an error. The following is an example of the message output:
EDG3204E I/O ERROR OCCURRED DURING DFSMSrmm SUBSYSTEM PROCESSING
EDG2110I DFSMSrmm DETECTED A FAILED CONTROL DATA SET UPDATE
EDG2111I DFSMSrmm STARTING AUTOMATIC RECOVERY OF THE CONTROL DATA SET
EDG2100I MASTER FILE ERROR IN FUNCTION GETD,14 - RC=0008 REAS=0060
KEY=OTAPELIBR
IEA794I SVC DUMP HAS CAPTURED: 028
DUMPID=009 REQUESTED BY JOB (DFRMM )
DUMP TITLE=EDG2100I MASTER FILE ERROR IN FUNCTION GETD,14 - R
C=0008 REAS=0060 KEY=OTAPELIBR
EDG2114I AUTOMATIC RECOVERY OF CONTROL DATA SET HAS FAILED
EDG2116A DFSMSrmm QUIESCED - START CONTROL DATA SET RECOVERY PROCEDURE
To begin review of this condition, DFSMS level 2 will require a SYSLOG containing messages similar to those in the example. Further documentation may be required thereafter.
What to Send
FTP the following documentation to the IBM support center for further diagnostics:
